Being a caregiver can be a very rewarding and satisfying career. Knowing that you are helping a family or an elderly person perform daily functions that they cannot do alone is the ultimate sacrifice of oneself for the betterment of another. If applying from overseas, you should know that Canada is one of the only countries in the world that permits you, a temporary foreign worker, to complete your live-in caregiver program, and to then be allowed to apply directly for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR). Once your PR is obtained, your family (husband and dependent children) may join you here in Canada.
